Glo Fish Madness

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well while the wife went into the beauty store I went to the Petco next door. This is what I've seen in one of the aquariums. Was never a fan of Tuti Fruti Glo frogs or any man produced Glo fish. When will this end?View attachment 1392566
Isn't that just an albino rainbow shark?

I'd like to have some glow fish, I'm very pro GMOs. But they, and all other GMOs are banned here.

Nope.
And just about everything is banned over there. Either I’m thinking of new Zealand or australia.

I was never a fan of them myself particularly at the price they charge. Though I did like the look of the blue rainbow shark when I saw it the other day.

A glowing axolotl.... Since when has this been a thing?
I had 2 gfp axolotls 3 or 4 years ago so its been a minute. I had an albino and a melanistic both had gfp gene.

I don't mind the look of the green and starfire red long fins. My issue is the price good lord why are they so expensive? $12 each!, wont catch me with them any time soon.

I have a strong dislike for all the glo fish. Unfortunately my kids like them(shocking right?!)
This is the only one we have left. My sons fish, blueberry.

I happen to agree with ReApEr666 ReApEr666 What's the problem? Have some escaped into the wild, and are now taking over the wetlands in Florida? I had no idea that there was a patent on them, that's hilarious. Not a fish for me personally, but I would never attempt to tell anyone else not to keep them, especially small kids if that's what interests them.

Yeah, that conversation with your child on pet choice could go alot worse than....

"Oh dad, can I have a small fish tank with some glo fish in, they're really cool"

OR....

"Oh dad, can I have a boa constrictor, they get to like 10ft long and might eat the cat"

:WHOA:

I would imagine the cat would be a snack with your child as the main course....
