So I have 6 glo fish, 2 buenos aires tetra, and 2 dwarf gouarmi's in my 20 gallon tank. One of my glo fish is pregnant. (or at least i think so)

1. Will the glo fish eat the eggs?
2. Should I isolate the pregnant female?
3. I have gravel, so will the eggs be able to hatch from the cracks in the gravel?
4. Should I collect the eggs and put them into my hang-on breeding net?

any help would be strongly appreciated!!

They scatter eggs and males fertilize them. Glo fish are just zebra danios and usually the acid bath and stuff done to them to due fish or make them glo causes them to go sterile and they will not breed. If they do the babies will only be zebra danios and will not glow

These danios are best bred in a tank with a layer of marbles. The adults will eat the spawn if given the chance. The marbles allow the eggs to drop between them and prevent the adults from being able to reach them. When the eggs hatch the fry will grow on their yolk sacs until they're free-swimming (length of time depends on tank temp). Then, you'll need microscopic foods to feed the fry until they're large enough (after about 2 weeks) for newly hatched brine shrimp (aka Artemia naupli). Then, crushed flakes/frozen will do to bulk the fry up.

I have 6 glo fish and am pretty certain one of them is pregnant! I do have some questions though....

1. Will the glo fish eat the eggs?
2. Should I isolate the pregnant female?
3. I have gravel, so will the eggs be able to hatch from the cracks in the gravel?
4. Should I collect the eggs and put them into my hang-on breeding net?
sorry to 2nd poster, but I believe that info is wrong, according to this:

Wrong! They are not dyed fish or abused in any way. The glo fish are done with gene manipulation. They add a gene from some marine fish that is florescent. They do it with 3 or 4 different species now. I don't remember from the article if they breed or not.

Lol acid bath! They are not sterile! They will produce florescent protein babies! But the male needs to fertilize the eggs. Research how to breed zebra danios its easy! Also look up glow angels!!!

I made a mistake on the sterile part. But the fry will not be glo fish they will be plain zebra danios. Just like dyed blood parrots, if they did breed the fry would not be dyed.
