+1pvc glue, might look for a metric reducer rather, if not a heavy coat of PVC glue like is used in irrigation.

Whenever I have an odd fit with PVC or any other pipe (for that matter) that doesn't quite fit together perfectly, I usually put a short length of clear flexible, plastic hose over the end, and tighten with a hose clamp from the home improvement store, then heat up the other end of a part of the clear hose, and jam PVC into that, and let cool to form a friction fit.

I was thinking about your way, but my intake is a small part inside. So i couldn't use the hose clamp on it.Whenever I have an odd fit with PVC or any other pipe (for that matter) that doesn't quite fit together perfectly, I usually put a short length of clear flexible, plastic hose over the end, and tighten with a hose clamp from the home improvement store, then heat up the other end of a part of the clear hose, and jam PVC into that, and let cool to form a friction fit.
