I just got a 300 bowfront probably will take my time setting it up.... really thinking salt water, its got built in overflows. 10ft long, 18" wide at the edges, about 33 in the center, and about 28-30 tall..... Im really thinking shark tank. I know there are more FW guys here than SW but give some some ideas..... EVERYTHING, heating, filtration, lighting. anything

Do not waste a giant tank on salt water!!!!!!!!!!!Go, and stay freshwater.........Salt water is a ton of money, and most of the fish are a waste, except for the triggers and lionfish................Fresh water is where the monsters are.......fresh water is where the hardy stay...........

400 neons

lol ill keep that in mind

ill probably stay fresh and make my 125 salt. I want my lionfish back, only reason ill go salt.

what kinda filtration would you recommend for fresh? for salt i was just going to put a 150 filled with live rock. I have one fx5 already, thinking about getting another and running it off that, sand bottom, maybe a ray, black aro, 2 pbass, 5 flagtails, 2 EBJD, and a Dat or two, Im going APE SH*T on this tank. i should be able to keep all that and be good, those are just rough estimates on how many per species though. What should I do for heaters? and most important let me know your ideas for filtration

300 gal sump :naughty: lol but a decent sized one atleast, and the 2Fx5's with a large sump would be ideal IMO.. And as far as heating the bad boy, titanium heaters? They're reasonably priced for product.. And have separate controllers for them.. Or an eheim heater..always good stuff.. And I like the stock list! :nilly:

Nice tank! I would stick with FW, less maintenance, fish more readily available.

Man I would love to have a bowfront that big!!!! If you have the cash to dump in it I say Saltwater!!! Man it will be soooo expensive. WIth rock coral fish, lighting, skimmer, sump ect I would say you would be lucky it can get it all setup for under 2k.

im thinking about a 125 or 150 sump with the 2 fx5's on that, I have a 125 that is a horrible looking tank but i great sump. also same case with a 150. Should i just run both on the sump or should i put one intake hose of fx5 #1 on the 300 and the output to the sump then put the intake hose from fx5 #2 in the sump then put that output hose in the take? I also have a koralia 6 im going to put in there for water movement
