I held out for the Cards as long as possible. After getting whacked by the Buckos last night I must concede it is over for them. So now I will root for the..........







Diamondbacks. HaHa You know I can't root for the Cubs I am from St. Louis.

At least I have Mizzou.
 
My favorite part of the game on Thursday night: watching Soriano make a diving grab to rob Pujols of a hit, probably extras. I promptly stood up amidst all the Pujols jersey wearing minions and screamed, "Woooo hoooo!! Way to go Pujols!!! You're the man!!!" I recevied several high fives from the few Cub loyals around me and many disgusted jears from dejected fans bearing the red 5. :D

Then they give up a for sure win last night to lose in 12. :irked: Yes, college football could not have come quick enough. I can handle watching Mizzou score 69 points any day.

How did Pujols do anything wrong? That was just a good grab by Soriano. Fyi, Pujols IS the man. Leads the league in average, tops in the league in hits, doubles, hr, rbi.........30+ hr, 100+ rbi EIGHT OUT OF EIGHT YEARS (only person to ever do that). He is the best all around hitter to ever play the game, period. He will break many a record. Not to mention his gold glove defense.

LOL! He didn't do anything wrong, and yeah, yeah, he's awesome. Blah, blah, blah...

It was just a great feeling seeing the disappointment on everyone's faces when their golden boy didn't come through in the clutch.

Don't try to tell me that you wouldn't have felt the same way if a Cub had done the same.
 
Yeah, big Z just threw the breaks on the super-hot 'stros! That's #89 for the Cubbies!

I have to admit though, it's not really going to be much of a home-field advantage for the Astros at Miller Park. I guess there's not much to be done about a hurricane though.

I was just kind of jerking your chain a bit, but no, I can honestly say I wouldn't have felt the same. As much as I love my cards, I still have the apprecitaion for spectacular players and spectacular plays. The other way around, if it were Soriano hitting, and the cards doing that to him....I would sigh and release the deep breath I was holding. :)

Hey, don't get me wrong, Pujols is a phenomenal player. Just because he didn't come through that time doesn't diminish his accomplishments one bit.

You better believe that I breathed a sigh of relief before I made my taunting remark! ;)
