Go Dovii or Go Umbee

pretty much what the title says im really wanting to do a singel specimen tank and i am torn between the 2 id love both but a 1000+ gallon tank is out of my budget for the moment. I really am leaning towards the umbee due to the full grown male specimens ive seen but the dovii just looks awesome as well. Id like to hear from people who have had either as grown adults and if youve had both which one you preferred out of the 2.

I prefer Dovii to Umbee but I dont think you can go wrong with choosing either. The Umbee Cichlid is generally more personal with its owner then the Dovii, charging and trying to bite you through the glass. But both will put on quite a show when its feeding time.

Dovii are pretty much a dime a dozen I would go with a umbee if only for the factor that they are not common.

Took the words right out of my mouth santoury i have had dovii befor and they are great fish but i want to do a umbee growout project and keep a show male i say get a half dozen grow them up and keep the best for yourself send the rest to lfs.

UMBEE! I'd give an arm and a leg for one of those right now! Hopefully I'll get one at the WA meet, but my vote is definately umbee.
