man... that cichlid scene umbee is CRAZY! nicest colors i've ever seen on an umbee. this might just change my mind... but dovii... so cool...

Naturally, I'm going to side with the umbee. Maybe you should make a poll and see which one wins out.
as said befor dovii are pretty common go with an umbee for sure they look better and have just as much attitude
I've had both. Personality wise, both have potential to be an utterly destructible glassbanger, although most of my doviis were downright crazy. I know I would have trouble deciding which to choose if seeing both full grown in person. Both have beautiful color patterns.
I currently have a male umbee that just broke the 13 inch mark. He is quite passive and only flares his gills when I stick my face in front of the tank. Otherwise, he is like a puppy constantly begging for food.
