Going from a Sump to a Canister system

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
for my 45 or sixty i want to do a sump if i can or just a hob cheap way :naughty:

i agree with the first response , is the sump loud because of the trickle or the piump?

It the gurgle of the water going down the pipes to the sump.

From what I've read, I'm going to get a larger pump one rated to 980 GPH. I'm not sure what the current pump is rated at. If that doesn't work I will set up durso standpipe.

Again thanks for all the help.

That is not necessarily true

Before you head out and purchase another pump try put up a pic of your current setup so we can make suggestions

Here a photo of the tank and sump.

For some reason I can't get the pic of the tank to work?
It says there are two pics there but one leads to a yahoo link?

i cant see the tank picture either.. but my vote is with a sump and canister. I am about to add on to my 75 that has a 30 gal sump on to help remove debris on the bottom.
