Yeah this guy here was caught in a lil rock quarry that they turned into a pond once the business dried up. Never caught these hybrids there till this year and now they are just everywhere. They get big too, caught one that was just a hair over 8in. They are a hybrid between green sunfish and pumpkin seed sunfish. They tend to get the pumpkin seed body and color/pattern while gaining the extra large mouth with blue facial markings from the green sunfish. Been thinking of doing a breeding project with em to see if I can improve their colors and sell the offspring.

Really?!? That's kind of neat/scary. Neat that we got a cichlud but also scary that they are able to survive out here and possibly take over the water ways.
