Going rate for a nile perch

so what do people plan on doin to the fish in ten years when its half that size 900 still to smaLL ..

It would take at least that long in an enormous tank for them to even approach that size....then out comes the grill.

Wrong again! I don't see these snide remarks when people on here discuss and show off pictures of their African Tiger Fish,freshwater stingrays and all of the other tank busting fish but the Lates is a fish that is imported ten times more seldom than those other fish are and suddenly there is a crusade against them.

I happen to agree that ATF are also not suitable Aquarium fish.

A fish that CAN grow that big in the wild will not grow that large in an enclosed habitat, simple as that. People look up a fish on the internet and see that it CAN grow to 8 feet and 400lbs doesnt mean that it will. Alot of fish that people keep on this site has the potential to grow very large but will never reach their "world record" size.

Go hug a tree, when my perch ever come close to that size you can bet i'll turn him to a plate of sashimi. Stop with all the hippy bs, fish are a food source. Why do you think that Perch is dead in the picture? Besides if you want to blame anyone, blame the destributers. What do you think would happen to the perch in the LFS? You think they will eventually release them back in the wild if they don't sell?

Don't blame the television show,the fish that he features have been in the hobby long before that show was even thought about,maybe you did'nt know about them...It seems that some people on here like to condemn others for keeping fish that they themselves are not into.

i'm sorry , i just don't understand the need to buy a fish that is quite obviously going to grow too large for anything most people can provide for a home...does it seem wrong to anyone else to purchase something you are not going to be able to provide adequate care for?

^This is what i'm talking about. What's adequate care for you? You rather see a perch in a 20g at a lfs being fed once a week? Or in My 240 eating better then me 2 times a day? Stop trying to make other people feel bad just because you cannot afford or succeed in what you want. How would you know if Snow does or does not have the proper home for it?
