I just lost a cuda today due to finrot. In a matter of 6 or so hours he lost his whole tailfin. The damn fish couldn't even swim straight or stay upright. He kept floating upside down. When he was delivered I thought he was dead bc he was upside down. Then when I got him in the tank i noticed his fins were white. today after work I come home and his fins are horrible. I tried to put him in a hospital tank and add salt. But he was so bad he died. Its ashame I really liked him. The other one I got looks ok but I'm keeping a close eye on him. I did a big water change in the main tank and added a little salt in it as well.
Sorry for the old bump but came across this thread and it makes sense now. I'm nervous because he was in with 2 scomb and my vatf, as well as another cuda. Everyone got along great so far. I am going to take every precaution incase it spread.
Would you guys ask the online vendor to replace the fish, if it clearly came with finrot? Or was the rot due to the fish being stressed from the overnight shipping? Tell me what you guys think. Thanks
