how could he stunted hes only a quarter the size of the tank? :duh:

i really doubt the fish is stunted, but i would focus more on their permanent home rather than adding a jar to the tank you already have. silvers have a pretty impressive growth rate when properly cared for.

I'm pretty sure if you put a jar and a sliver in a 50 to raise them up you'd end up with a dead silver. Silvers are pretty passive and jars are bastards, it probably wouldn't even be a good idea to do this in a 135.

Like others have said the only chance you may have is haveing the silver and jar in a 300, but it's still not really a good idea. IMO i'd pick on or the other, but good luck

everyones so judgemental, of couarse i will move them up i have a three hundred gallon tank being planned. Anyways they would be together in the fifty gallon and the others would be moved to a 135.

We are not being "judgemental", We are giving you basic information that you don't seem to know. You don't have the proper housing, experience, or knowledge to atempt this and with just end up killing the fish. But who cares what advice you get here, becuase you'll just do it anyway, right?

more than likely (sigh)

it's your money...have fun

please dont do that
i personally wouldnt mix them in a 300
really why would you buy a Jardini and put it in a ten gallon with another aro even if its for only a little bit

I don't claim to be an expert in any sense of the word, but I had my aro in a 25 gallon and thought it was too small. In a few days he'll move into a 90 gallon tank along with a royal pleco and an ornate bichir. Regardless. You've posted a question, or comment or whatever you want to call it...and people have given their opinions and suggestions. It seems to me that a few people on here post, and as soon as someone says something they don't agree with, they go off on those who are just trying to help you/them. My opinion is, if you're not willing to at least take the opinions of others in stride, don't bother posting on a forum.

its just the fact that everyone seems to think i am ignorant of how to do anything involved with an aro, true no experience but i have been researchin g them for a better part of a year now, also the fact that somebody said my aro was probably stunted even though its only a quarter the size of the tank just pissed me off.

You have to understand why everyone said what they did though. All the info we have to go off of is in those few sentences in the beginning of the thread. So for future references, to prevent this from happening again, be more specific about your overall plans.

I have to admit though that the comment about the aro being stunted was a stretch... I also think that the Jar is a bad idea. I'd hold off on him until you are sure you know what you're gonna do with your final setup and maybe by then you'd have enough knowledge to know if the Jar is right for you and your silver.

just ignore the stunting comment...that was somewhat idiotic (no offense), but a fish this young is very unlikely to be stunted. get it in a larger tank, keep good water parameters, and provide a good diet the fish will be fine. in my opinion i would drop the idea of the jardini...for the time being anyway. just focus on this fish for now.
