everybody has their own opinions, so go with whatever one you like best. if you really want a diamond, you'll probably wanna buy a bigger one, because at three inches, there is a good chance that you will end up with something else.

had one more question joe. U say its better to buy a bigger one to know for sure what it is? So aquascape makes mistakes on identification too you think?

aquascape is usually pretty good at that stuff, but everybody makes mistakes, especially with small serras. if you buy something from one of the online vendors, your chances of getting what you paid for are pretty good. have you made a decision on what you're getting yet?

think im gonna go with a gold diamond. Was looking at the Piraya also since they will both be a single tank specimen and the Piraya suposedly gets big but they look so close to a red belly id be wondering if i had what they say it is. I have a 90 gallon to start him off in 4ft x 1.5ft x 2 ft. Will this inhibit his growth at all at some point?? I also have a 6ft x 2ft x 2ft but thats occupied atm.

you can't get a piraya and a red mixed up due to the color not passing the lateral line on a red. I like the yellow piraya the most over the red variant and have been thinking that if my 11" red ever passes away I will get me a yellow one myself see if I can get him up to 20" and yes they are amazing at that size!!!!!!!!!!!

your rhom would be good for life in that tank, if you get it at three inches, it should get to 6 or 7 inches within the first year and then after that, it will grow very very slowly up until it reaches about the 10-12 inch mark, but that will be many years down the road. a solo piraya is always very impressive, they grow much faster, so that tank would be filled out nicely in no time

well its been three days now ive been trying to call aquascapes number. They dont answer the phone... very weird. I wanna buy a fish from them but hell what am i to expect?? i would hate to send them money and they dont do anything for me. Maybe someone else could call the number? tell me if you get the same deal? 908-634-0820 thats the number listed at the top of their page. Can anyone else check for me?? please? thanks

nevermind finally got ahold of them on the phone. My gold diamond should ship either today or tommorow.

nice choice. i got my GDR a year and a half ago,at the same size as yours. he is now 8"+ and looks great.
though a piraya would have been an equally impressive fish. expecially if u got 3 or more like i did.
good luck with him. and if he shows up in bad shape just get some melafix and give him time. he will look great soon.
