gold diamond vs black?

man my micro camera stinks..... maybe i theres something im doing wrong here well heres a picture i took of him but it looks like crap.( btw the rock quartz covered with algae and the substrate is white sand)

he seems to be doing well so far, cleaned out almost all the black convict fry in one night and ive started feeding him cut shrimp which he likes too. Fins and head etc are a bit beat up from being shipped in a plastic container but i assume that will heal in time. If i can get ahold of a better camera ill try to upload some better shots. He doesnt seem to have red eyes... does that mean hes not a diamond?

red eyes come with age, they come at different times in different fish, but i've found that they usually are showing red eyes around the 5 inch mark

thanks for the info joe. Hes deffinately not 5 inches id say close to 3 maybe. Got alot of yellow/gold coloration around the gill plate but thats pretty much it.

yeah, having clear eyes at that size is totally normal... i just posted a couple pics of my rhom's one month turnaround, if you check it out, you can see in the first pic that it had bright red eyes, he was a bit under 5 inches when that pic was taken
