That second last photo is a bit sad.

I was already disgusted by the first photos, but decided to write nothing.
But since this is going on, i can´t continue ignoring this thread.

In my eyes buying, selling and especially breeding these creatures is cruelty to animals.
I would not even think to take photographs of them, besides to help stopping this business.
Sorry for the straight words, i can´t believe i´m the only one thinking that way.

There will always be people buying, breeding and selling them, you can call it ignorance if you want. I personally love fancy goldfish, and own a few myself. As for taking pictures of them... I think they are lovely, some of the best I've seen. Besides that, Hristo has a wonderful set up, with lush plants, and clear water. They are in a very good home. Isnt that better than being in some fish bowl, or being sold at a carnival, with little ping pong balls being thrown at their heads? I believe so.

Thanks, Trina!
My English is not so good to express exactly my whole own opinion about Golgfishes…,
I have no wish and free time to dispute any themes about some kind of “fish racialism” …
I love much all my fishes and giving them all my best to see them doing well and happy…:-P
I didn’t mention and propagandize anything about “buying, selling and especially breeding these creatures…”
I think, here is just one wonderful photography discussion forum and it’s not a criminal to enjoying the photos
of any my lovely fishes, which I’m sure – millions of people liked them too…

Cheers!

This is Always going to be a touchy subject, specially with the fish Hristo owns, which are mostly Parrots, goldfish and discus, all being hybrid versions of fish in nature.

My personal opinion and one that I try to foster here, is that we should not NECESSARILY be political about this aspect of the hobby, we are here to discuss photography. I have gone towards both spectrums of this discussion, having started with breeding Flowerhorns and, since then, having gone away from any types of hybrid fish, as a personal choice. But I dont think it's necessary to discuss these opinions here.

On the other hand, Everyone's opinion is valuable whatever it is. Everyone is free to voice their opinion, as long as it does not PERSONALLY offend the person its targeting. Andreas' comment is general and is meant as such.

Play nice guys :) :) :)

Hristo, to get back to the subject, I am truely amazed by the improvement you continue to show. Those photos are wonderful and show what you are trying to convey VERY WELL. (notice I have said nothing on the subjects, I will keep my opinion to myself)

Andreas, I think this way, too, since I keep killies. Hybridizing would be unthinkable, pure anathema, but
I can appreciate Hristo's craft, his skill. He certainly has "Flash Photography with Macro Lens 101" down
very well:-D

Peace.

Hey, Bill, I’m a big Killie’s fan too and know very well what do you mean…
Just wait to see my coming soon Killie’s series…be sure – there are no "hybrids"

Now, that are few others Oranda’s close up for All fans of these nice fishes:

Hey!

Nice pics from you as usual - however, the 'group of goldfish' shot & series ... seems to have a "gray film" over them. Easily corrected in PhotoShop.

Not going to delve into the subject of keeping hybrids, breeding, etc ... BUT, one of the most important things for aquarists to do IMHO is to keep the fish in a good & proper environment.

Happy Fishkeeping! ^_^
