my girlfriend really likes just the simple calicoe goldfish and i have decided to get her like a 5 gallon tank so is there any catfish or any other fish to go in the tank like some type of loach or something

would a shortbody comet that they use as feeders work. You can find some really pretty ones in a large group if you go to petco.

Not even a fancy would work in a 5g. The smallest short bodied golfish is the telescope and tehy can get up to 4" or more.

so what would you recomend because iknow she donst want a very large tank and she wants a goldfish of somesort.

A standard 10g tank is about 10"w x 18"l x 12" tall, you could give her a calico telescope eye, they look like multicolored blackmoors, and a weatherloach, both do quite well without a heater. The goldfish is one of the smaller ones, to 5-6", and the loach which comes is several color variants, can reach 6-8".

Get a 10g hex tank. They take up even less room than a regualr 10g.

thanks for the info and suggestions. i was also wondering if a goldfish can be comforatable in temperatures from 75 to 80 degrees or do the just need really cold water. i dont know a whole lot about regular goldfish.

Goldfish are best kept at 60-75 degrees, warmer water makes them susceptible to disease and shortens their life span.
