A baby would be especially interesting, since the only ones in the trade are sub adult - 2 to 3 feet long, like mine, and the other guy's.
yep mines a good 2 foot, ive never seen a baby:)

we had two baby gold tulip eels (the wholesaler called them exactly that) at my lfs about a year ago, they didn't last long though, they were about 6-8" long each. Cool looking, but someone put some green terrors in their tank the next week and I found them shredded the next day. Too bad, I had no idea how rare they were.

Heh... heres the image, its not very impressive, but its the only one i got thats good enough, i had to dig up the whole tank.
monopterusalbus1ie2.jpg

It looks different from the monopterus shown here, very docile, never seen it eat.

That is not a Monopterus, but more likely a Synbranchus.

Mine is not likely to be synbrachus, they are not native to my country or region, and as i mine was wild caught. I know the picture didn't show its tail, but it has a very tapered tail.

how about an in-tank shot? the head is much more slender than a typical monopterus. Maybe yours was an invasive?

Most of the swamp eels here has a narrow head. here is a link that shows the general configuration, its head is also said to be like the head of a dog. There really are alot of different asian swamp eels such as belonging to the family of Ophisternon, but mine is not those, its the common type.

Guys, I just got six of them (at 8"-12" long) and I plan to post picks soonest. They're still in qt and I'm trying out different foods. Can anybody suggest food items for them? Tnx!

i wanan see a pic of a 3foooter. get on it guys
