GOLDFISH ABUSE!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
(Tokis, they have passed)

One of my fish was a rescue. My puffer was another "rescue" from the FW setups at walmart

Check if your area has a freecycle. Occasionally people put up fish they no longer want, such as a 10.5" fish in a 35 hex..... >.< He is in a 75 right now, but I'm getting rid of him, since I do not feel that it is adequate when he needs at least 100!!

Yes, Tokis. They died about a year ago. They weren't facies. The big one was a common, and the smaller one was a comet. Nothing special, but beatiful just the same. Especially their color. The common was a bright redish orange and shimmered to the point of it being almost blinding, while the comet was a calm, pale, creamy orange. They contrasted nicely with each other and the white gravel, green plants, and purple walls.

What is a freecycle? And ouch that's a tight squeeze! What kind of fish?

A clown knife.

Freecycle is a yahoo group for your particular area (mine's for lenawee county, since that's where I live) Where people post the items they no longer want or need, that are still in good shape. The best part, everything's free!! No buying no trading, but it works on a sort of Karma system. You have to offer something in order to get things that you are searching for.

Example, you're looking for a fish tank. You post an ad for something like an old table in good shape, then you post a wanted ad for the tank. And this increases your chances of getting what you're looking for.

You don't have to post an offer every time you post an add, but it helps.

I replied to the clown knife's ad, and the woman was also looking to get rid of his tank, so I lucked out there. Considering I got the airpump, filter, decor, hood, light, cartridges, food, meds, a book, and the AQ STAND for the amount of gas it took to go pick it up!!

go to yahoo groups and look up "county name" Freecycle

It's just sad how the world is. A kid at school said he saw something where some guy got 10 year in jail for puting a live puppy in a oven but if you put a live lobster in a boiler then your just fine. I also remember seeing something on this site where a guy got in trouble for feeding a live puppy to his snake. If that were a live rat noone whould have cared.

People care more about things that they think are "cute" and nothing else.

My goldfish are applauding your honorable actions!!

Our fish are just as much pets as our dogs and cats, as a matter of fact, it's MUCH easier to care for the fish.

They won't chew on your shoes

Piddle on your new carpet

Jump on your guests

Claw your furniture

Don't shed

Their mess is contained, won't eat what they're not supposed to (except tankmates on occasion O.o)

Sure sometimes the tank gets dirty, and algae gets on your decor, or your filter breaks down. But that's no reason to just dump them off to die!!

I would seriously maim somebody for that. Or for dumping kittens, and lizards or even birds and rodents in the trash!!

my fish jump at my guests sometimes, but some people just dont respect fish or any other animal that is not "cute"

I want to see someone try telling my fish that they're not cute!! My fish would die laughing!!!

My fiance PETS his male goldfish!!! it's crazy!! Everytime he walks into my office, all 6 of them (one is in quarentine) swim to the front of the glass and get excited!!

Me, I'm more of a fish person myself!!

Agreed. I hate animal abuse. Every time I watch those animal police shows, I wanna throw something at the tv. I much prefer rescuing animals than buying them. When I get a dog, or a cat, or a rabbit, or a horse or whatever, I'm going to adopt it. Fish are the exception, because there are hardly ever at the Jersey Shore Animal Shelter.

I agree. I want to slash those people to death...makes me very angry :)
