i love my goldfish... like everything fish have their place... and to me theres nothing prettier then a mellow out door gold fish pond.. with lily pads, frogs hopping..bees buzzing and flowers swaying in the breeze...they are just perfect .... open your heart to goldfish and you will understand their beauty.

amazingly put.

im surprised more MFKers dont like goldfish. they may not have the personality of some of the other fish we keep, like an oscar or FH, but the fancy ones are quite peaceful to look at, and a nice change from most of our large preds

i only dislike the " fancy types" they all look mutilated and dis figured. i dislike most fish that have been selectivly bred for thier colors e.g. balloon mollies, and albino cories, etc i know, they are cool its just not natural. i do however like the fish that were bred selectivly ONE generation for ressesive traits like EBJD's and the cool color morphs of percula clowns, picasso , misbar, barless, etc. the only selectivly bred fish i really like are koi and BETTAS!!!!! ... i like feeder goldfish when they are in a pond... not a tank

:iagree:

I keep goldfish myself. I don't hate every strain there is but I dislike bubbleeyes and celestials. I've had my share of frustration with bubbleeyes since their eye sacs are quite delicate and easily punctured whereas celestials just don't seem to look that appealing with the exception of demekins.

Here are some of mine. Still don't have pics of my other oranda.

Goldfish makes koi look good. :P

They are also fun to watch because their drone like movements remind me of zombies. That's why i call 'em zombie fish. :D

Oh this is a reminder on another reason I hate gold fish, people puting them In there ponds and lakes where they are nonative to. If you want an outdoor pond and live in north america put sunfish in it.
