I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but I have never personally seen a carnival/fair giving away goldfish, even at games for prizes. But people are dumb, so i can totally imagine it happening and the fish die before they even see a glass home

Who do you think will pay for the implementation and enforcement of such a law?

 @ steelayer. My thoughts exactly.

edit: Don't get me wrong though, they shouldn't be handed out as prizes. Just not a role government should ever have to fill.

so how else is a law banning live animal prizes meant to get passed through parliament without the government doing it?:confused:

the government dont actually enforce the law, that will be the RSPCA's job. a charity with legal powers.

unfortunately i just have at a fare in King's Lynn that was in town a few weeks ago.

It's a shame I cannot sign it since I'm not a British resident. Oh well..Good luck and hope this trend does end.

I've only been to one carnival which they gave you the coupon for a free fish instead of the actual goldfish. Then you would go to the fish store that the carnival made arrangements with and you'll get them there. I thought i was actually pretty smart and it gave the parents a chance to say no.
