Goliath shaking its head

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oh wow i didn't know they shead teeth like that. I will try and have a better look tomorrow but he is still very small and teeth are very hard to see. Thanks for the help! That is great info!

I think the shedding the teeth advice is probably right. Otherwise I would worry about something stuck in his mouth which would be pretty unlikely or a broken/bent tooth

Well his teeth seem to be fine. No idea what else it could be. I wish it was something simple so i could solve it fast. Seems really strange we didn't see anything under the microscope.

Shedding teeth in my opinion. I have kept ATF for 25 years and I know exactly what you are talking about. Snappy real fast while it moves forward a few inches then shakes its head a few times.

Yeah you guys were right he was shedding his teeth but he still continues doing the same. He is also twitching with his fins which makes me think of skin parasites. Probably gill parasites as well since he hasn't stoped shaking his head.

Mist of my ATF have simply been twitchy fish. I'm partly convinced thatbitbis just their character. They're like a 1000 horsepower old school muscle car; they can hold still at times, but they are barely contained balls of raw power and speed.

IF you're thinking parasites, just treat them with Prazi. It's really safe, no need to second guess, when in doubt break it out. Just be sure to treat the entire life cycle of what ever you're treating for, otherwise the disease can build immunity....
