They most def are very cool fish but with that being said u will need to tailor the tank and its other inhabitants around that fish's disposition. I've had a lince in with him that eventually got killed by him as an example. The mix I presently have seem to be doing well. I got the tank from a company in miami,fl called dolphin fiberglass same company that built viktors 4500gal tanks.Super cool. Such an accomplishment! Keep the updates coming.
Despite being my favorite fish I often find myself frustrated and discouraged with how flighty and jumpy they are. Mine is around 8" -9" now and am finishing up his next enclosure - 10x4x36. Hoping that will hold him over for some time.
Where did you get the fiberglass aquarium from?
Yes one was Pipa and the other is Jonathan Ariberto. I know Johnathon well we speak often and alerted me when his had hurt himself severely and was dieing. Very sad. He raised his solely with other fish a few the tiger took out. The other guy had 3 big ones and eventually they started to get taken out til he was left with one. Going with the advice on keeping one per tank as I fully believe in.Very nice. The only larger GATF I have seen were on facebook and based out of asia. The one guy had 3 that were ranging from 30in- 36in+, another individual had a single GATF that I think was close to 4ft. Both owners had massive tanks. I think the 4ft GATF was in a a 7000g tank and the others were in like 30,000g pond with a ton of other fish.

From what he told me was they had severe rain storms and wind that knocked some flower pots into the water and ultimately spooking him and consequently ramming himself into the wall. It was sad to witness happening. All happening at night. He did his best to revive it but it succumbed to its injuries. Heartbreaking. Reason why I keep mine in a round tank so he gets deflected if he hits the wall and it has happened a few times.I read about Pipa losing two of three and thought maybe all 3. Did not know that Ariberto lost his. How did that happen? That must be devastating.
