Id like to add that this fish qualifies for a trophy award in my state. I just finished filling out the application. After three total "trophies" one gets a master angler award and plaque. I have already qualified with; longnose gar at 45", Flathead at 40", Bluecat at 35", LMB at 24", Hybrid at 26", Drum at 27", adn 16" crappie. Sadly I didnt submit any of the fish I listed. This year I plan to submit every trophy I catch!

my stomach just started rumbling

I hope you remembered to clean off that nasty, ugly thing attached to the fish :D

Damn that hurt!

I will be in Florida Feb28-March1. I will be hitting the piers and bridges for the sheepies for sure. I must say Im better then most of the locals when it comes to catching the sheeps head!

The trout should be biting pretty good as well...should be good!

:)

where in florida? pm me if you come down!

Sauger at 23...wow i thought they stayed smaller, nice catch!...any possibility it might have been a saugeye?
anyhow that looks delicious, I've caught walleye before, and you can't beat fresh fish.

Ill be FAR from you. Pensacola.

The pompano should be running good too. Last time I was down late in the season for pompano (early May) and still did well from the Pensacola pier. This year I should be in the heart of Pomp season...damn they are tastey!

Wurm, I will take you up on that fish fry!

Unannon, yes the sauger was 23". My personal best. The trophy size is 18" so I easily got that beat but the world record is an amazing 17lbs! There are walleye present in the area but saugeye are rare.
