Gooch, Wallago leeri, bichir com tank??

Hi everyone, I'm planning to keep a 12" gooch catfish in a community tank. Here's a list of what's in the tank:
4 polys (6"-12")
a wallago leeri (10")
an ocellated snakehead (9.5")
an albino clown knife (10")
and a sleeper goby (6")
So, will it be a good mix with the gooch?? And what substrate is suitable for the gooch?........Thanks
 
I don't have experience with gooches but I'd be careful with your smaller bichirs. Wouldn't be surprised if a catfish could eat one half its size.

Whoops I missed that one. Yeah, I think because of the size it may be at risk too.
 
If im honest, i don't see it working. That goonch will eventually end up going for the others. IMHO, it's not if, it's when.
Out of curiosity, how big is the tank?
Any idea what species of goonch it is?

Even without you mentioning tank size it doesn't sound like it would work. Leeri, the Sleeper Goby(depending on which Sleeper your talking about), Goonch and the snakehead are serious predators. Leeri and the Goby are known for eating surprising large fish for their size and in my opinion would more than likely prey and take out the Knife and Poly's. The Goonch it would depend on which one you get as I've heard certain Goonch are peaceful at small sizes. Still the Goby which is also aggressive on top of being predatory would probably clash often with the Leeri and Goonch. One of the bottom dwellers would probably work with the snakehead due to them inhabiting different water levels and the snakehead may not see them as potential prey. Just my opinion but I know if the combo your suggesting did manage to work it would take a lot of monitoring on your part especially due to some of your choices growth rate differences.

Actually that's the thing that I'm concerned of. I'll move the small polys as soon as possible.

I think the goby is too fat to be eaten..

the tank is around 60" x 16" x 17"
I'm not sure what gooch it is. What I'm sure is that it is caught from Kalimantan (Borneo)

The tank now is actualy quite peaceful. The wallago leeri is always staying on the corner of the tank, and it only moves when it is being fed. The sleeper goby is the marbled sleeper goby.

Yup, not a real sleeper. When the prey is near, it will instantly swallow it..



Conclusion, I will need to reconsider in buying the gooch...Thanks everyone:grinyes: :grinyes:
