Heres what I see:
-Carbon reactor: probably under 100$ new
-skimmer: can't tell what kind that is, probably a couple hundred bucks new
-Bunch of rock which isn't submerged, probably was live at some point/somewhat still is? This could be very pricey, but if it's just dry rock then it's not worth much
-RO unit, usually about a hundred bucks
-180 w/ stand, in this condition they are not worth much on the used market
Everything looks very used, cleaning all that would take a herculean effort. If you've ever tried to get coralline algae off something, you know how difficult it is. Plus, like I've mentioned before, getting used reef setups is a real gamble, especially if it looks like it's seen better days.
On top of that, I think going for a 180 reef as your first saltwater setup is a mistake.
Overall I'd pass and spend that 800 on a beautiful custom setup that you piece together yourself exactly how you want it, and is a more manageable size.
Rarely do those two things align haha.Ok thanks that is what I needed to hear (not really what I wanted to hear but what I needed)![]()
Your a general contractor? I thought you were like 15, did I make that up? hahaWell I REALLY want to try to build a stand... As a general contractor I have the experience but I’ve never built something so small... so I am thinking maybe 55g or something
Ah nice, good industry to be in. Until very recently I was working for a real estate development company, as an assistant PM, overseeing the GC for a 21 story luxury residential building in Manhattan. Stick with it! You will have plenty of money for nice tanks in the future hahayes i am to both lol
I work for a construction company as their head contractor and on the side i am building a house for a family from church

College is a great idea! I am going for masters degree right now in RE development, there are plenty of jobs in this industry that do require degrees. It's awesome that your college will be paid for, my mother works for Columbia university and they paid for my undergrad as well. Wherever you end up, the more experience you have the betterWell see I am actually planning to do this till I am 18 and than I am going to college. It is being payed for by a local company that my mom works for... they already signed papers that state they will pay for my college...
so I plan on doing something better... but I am always going to keep this experience with me just in case![]()
