I have been doing some research on Lizards for a 1st timer. Was wondering what you guys or girls think. I was also wondering what the bare min. I need to buy to get started.

I have been looking at Leopard & Spotted Gecko's any other suggestions

Thanks

leos are good starters for kids there real easy to maintain you could do the following for one-three leos 20 gal long tank with a heat lamp w/ 75 watt red bulb a hide for each leo including a humid hide two bowls one for water one for calcium and paper towl as a substrate

:iagree:
unless u wanna start of "cheaper" anoles are ok, but leos are more hardy and better to handle

Beardeds are a good choice, and their tails dont fall off if handled roughly.

i got a long tailed lizard as my first reptile, 6months........ then........

it was killed by a millipede....... = ( ........ i didnt know millipedes were that dangerous
i was a lil kid.......

I think beardies are great i had mine from when i was 8 untill this august when it got sick and died unfortunatly but leos are great too

Thanks for the quick replies. Do you have to have a 20L. I have a 10G sitting around I would like to use to start with. I never thought of paper towels. I was going to get the calcium sand for the sub.

if its just a 10 gal, then u can squeeze by with a leo. But beardies need like a 30 when they're younger, and a 60 when they're full grown, im not sure i could be wrong but i know that you'll have to upgrade eventually if you wana beardie:P
