true but beardeds are a little harder to care for and alot more cleaning

Im sure a 12 year old can handle the responsibilities of cleaning a little poop, beardeds are a fary better choice given they are diurnal creatures, mucking around with a nocturnal gecko will only stress it out more.

Thanks for the quick replies. Do you have to have a 20L. I have a 10G sitting around I would like to use to start with. I never thought of paper towels. I was going to get the calcium sand for the sub.

calci sand is bad because its like broken glass at a micro scale and more expesive than sand like blue iguana wich is rounded if you can find blue iguana you should use it:)

Give it some sand and get a pooper scooper for reptiles, replace sand as needed in terms of tolerance for smell etc...

true im just saying leos are alot easyer plus they have a 10 gal wich would house a bearded for like three weeks
in a ten gal i would go with the leo and the carpet is ok as long as you clean it properly but i would just go with paper towels while its small then you could put it on play sand when its larger
