Keep at it. They should come undone with enough grunting and swearing. Get yourself a jewelers screwdriver set if you dont have a properly sized flat head. I have one, and its the only thing I use when I work on electronics.

Sometimes, materials bond through a swap of molecules from long periods of contact.
Since you cant use something like penetrating oils here, you can place the flat head on the screw, and lightly tap the screw driver handle with a hammer two or three times. This normally helps.

After much frustration I got the cord out and am going to the store to get a new extension cord and a new cord/plug. I really hope I don't mess this up.
