Good plants for a beginner?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Lol you must special skills then.

I have brown thumb skills when it comes to terrestrial plants. I'm so bad that my husband has banned me from touching our flower beds or any lawn tools. My lovely yard and gardens....thats all his doing.

I'm not even allowed to rake leaves, and they're already dead lol

lol my wife is the same she brings home flowers and says do something with it. Unfortunately we have lots of White tail deer that roam the area. :)

Ok thanks, I got fluorite by seachem and thrive as a fertilizer, I'll try again, thanks

Add excel and you should have a great combo, I find that I get the most new growth when using flourish with excel and it helps keep algee down. Getting your light on a timer Is key to dialing in your aquarium and keeping green spot algee from taking over.

I just put it on when I wake up (usually 5 am, could be upwards of 7 am) and turn it off when I get home from school (around 3 pm)

Invest in a timer they are very cheap under $10 and they will make sure you have the same photo period every day. I’d be inclined to say that was probably a major part your problem in the first place. I like to set my timers up so that my tanks come on right before I get home from work, and turn off at the end of the night.

ok, I'm not sure how I'd install it with the way my lighting system is though, it's a biocube

Is the lighting switch hardwired to the tank or does it go to a wall socket?
