Think about the risk you're taking with a used tank. Do a search for clarity plus here and read the threads.

For me the extra money was worth not having to take or minimize the risk to zero. The last thing that you need is 600 gallons of water in your floor. The damage will cost more (even with insurance) had you buy a brand new setup from a reputable tank builder

:iagree: 100% whole heartedly..... don't risk it.

However, can you PM me the guy's contact info of who's attempting to sell this piece of junk so I can educate him..... I'll have to have him ship it to me so no-one else has to take on the risk!

haha ok i get the message lol.... well i did think about risks but im using paypal. and part of the underlying details is that it holds water or i get my money back...

As a tip, you should always use a credit card to pay via Paypal. Don't ever use your bank account or remaining balance to pay.

If Paypal screws you over by not being able to do squat after a transaction, your credit card can.

good point. i never thought of that.... thank you!

For that price its definitely a good deal. But i would rather be able to inspect it first before buying it. Also paypal will not refund you any money if its not an Ebay purchase. If you have any dispute with the seller you're on your own.

did paypal change that? because i had a dispure with a seller over a craigslist purchase and they honored that... but that was about 4 months ago

That is complete bunk and a myth. I'm not sure how this myth/rumor was started, maybe when ebay acquired paypal? Regardless, paypal will always look in to any claim made to determine it's validity, ebay purchase or not. I went through a claims dispute non-ebay related back in December.

ok so nothing has changed with paypal then... they will still refund up to a grand?
