Hi, so I got these two blackberry juveniles (I think they're Myleus Schomburgkii) for ~$50 a piece. So, is that their normal price or too much? They're ~5cm or 2". I just want to know if I'm overpaying because I plan on getting 2 more.
I know their tank is small but they're just here temporarily. I also got 4 regular dollars to act as dithers and so far that works great

I have only owned your basic silver Silverdollars, since the 70's. I didn't know there were variants.
(Are those variants, hybrids or morphs?)
No clue here, but I grew some very large silver dollars in just a 30 tall. They outlived every other fish.
Barbs, tetras, cats, angels . . . nothing outlived the Dollars.

I quit when I got my Oscar. It was a different world for me then. My tastes have changed.

I see them going for more than that on a regular basis.

Yeah there are many species discovered under the Myleus genus and other classified as subspecies. To be honest I myself am not very well versed with the sd species, I know the regulars, red hooks, barred and striped. I'm sure there exist way too many more. I think the blackberries are a special locality of the Myleus Schomburgkii (somebody correct me if I'm wrong).

I think I might treat myself then!

I understand the blackberries are not naturally occuring but rather a created or "designer" strain.
