good starter car?

Sigh, volvo's for a first car is still a no-brainer. Safest car you can get (the older ones), plus runs for hundreds of thousands of miles.

Jap cars are death traps.

since the clown car wasnt looked into even though its a great idea. ride a bike as you can go through traffic and laugh at everyone who has a car.

yah ive been looking at some volvos lately. they are nice and cheap too

btw how is that scion tc or the honda element? any good>?

Cheesy jap parts, as usual.

I still don't get the people raving on the jap-crap. Have you guys ever actually worked on the cars before? I mean, sure, it's easy to bolt on performance parts, but the stuff coming off is light-weight japanese crap metal. I mean, seriously....the metal feels like freakin plastic.

I've had my acura cl 2.2 for 12 years. Runs great, is good on gas, and I've made just about every repair on it my self. They're not all crap.

i agree. just depends how well you take car of your car.

wow tell us how you really feel...... i'm not saying they are the best designed cars on the planet, but for the most part, japanese cars are very cost effective, good mpg, not the ugliest looking, and parts are usually very easy to find. I have a 99 honda accord ex and the thing has 210K miles on it, still gets 25 mpg CITY! other than normal wear and tear and maintenance, no big issues at all

yeah, i personally like jap cars over euro's.
