Some will say ‘good reddens’, some will say ‘another soul lost to the statistics’ and others will say ‘well he has paid the price so all is now fair’. No matter what your opinion is on his execution, the law did as it was put into place to do. And at the same time, when it comes down to it, just another man lost his soul. I thought it was only right to make a topic with such a national execution.

He was hung at 3.00am GMT time. I don’t recon it is the end of the whole matter, more like the end of the beginning. There will be uproar now, and in the weeks to come more peoples lives will be lost to the statistics. Sometimes I wonder if it was worth it? Did Mr Bush, Mr Blair and the UN restore peace to Iraq? Or have we caused more chaos and destruction than any one dictator could have caused? Guess it’s every individuals perception, not one report can conclude the success of this war and the others in Iraq’s neighbours.

didn't waste any time... I like that

I wish they could get an express lane like in Iraq for some of the POS's that we (taxpayers) have to pay for to live 20 - 40 yrs on death row waiting on appeals here in the US of A;)

Always shared that opinion freeskierrocket, although we don’t have the death sentence in the UK anymore. If you sentence someone to death let them die and stop charging people to let them live on borrowed time. And if they want someone to live with the misery in their head, don’t sentence them to death.

Another thing I will raise in this topic. This morning they (various people and sources) talk about the inhumanity of the death sentence following Saddam’s execution. However there is nothing inhumane about being hung and the process, compared to how he killed people. If anything, his execution was carried out very mildly compared to how he used to ‘do it’.

People argue that one soul for another is no good trade or punishment. However in this case, one soul for thousands of souls may seem like Saddam got a good deal. At least he does not cost us any more money now, and his presence can numb over time.

I dunno 'bout this...it reeks of hypocrisy on so many levels.
Was this truly justice or just revenge?

It's justice, the man gassed his own people.
