Goodbye Saddam Hussein

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Okay, befdore this one gets heated,
Remember,
We all have the right to our opinions,
Mine is, good, one less a***olle in charge of a country.
We all have the right to state that opinion,
politely, well, at least PG13.
We do not have the right to flame someone for disagreeing.
We do not have the right to uphold Saddam as an example of his people,
he is not, I have met many Iraqis, most are pretty much like everyone else.
This thread can continue as long as you bear those rules in mind,
otherwise I will use my LI given powers as an omnipotent mod and shut it down.

Don't fret guppy, so far everyone in this topic appears to be well mannered individuals who know how to conduct a debate. I recon this is a healthy topic for us to conduct in. But if any fools do make their way to this topic or if anyone forgets their manners, maybe you could kindly delete their replies instead of closing the whole thread?

So rottbo, you recon a man that did not think other people deserve the same rights, should receive such rights? His idea of a trial was to send officials to burst into someone’s house and declare them guilty. And then execute them in such inhumane ways it is not fit for this public forum.
I recon Saddam got more rights than he deserved in both trial, execution, and after death. I am not saying his death was a good thing, especially following the uproar today, but if anything he got the rights he deserved.

saw it plastered on my home page and said wow, never looked into the details of what happened. I just know he got hanged, pretty gruesome way to go but I don't think it compares to some of the stuff he did. Are we a safer nation now?

Actually that was a warning so hopefully I do not have to even delete a single post (other than mine for somehow double posting) great job people, so far doing great!

As a personal view, he was tried under very forgiving rules compared to Iraq, the sentance by hanging was not from a USA coart, but an Iraqi one, the alternative was beheading.
In my opinion (and only my opinion) both are more humane than the one the Kurds would have given him, and I don't blame them.

you know david I got into a big debate about this subject last night
I believe that he had the right to an appeal even though he was such a horrible person... even tim mcvey had the chance of an appeal... the Justice system is full of a bunch of hypocrites

The only problem that I see with him living is that should he be snagged and escape and some how regain power there.... That leaves me to believe His quik end was Justified due to the danger he posted by staying alive..

I felt oddly sarrowful at the realization that he was actually dead.. and don't know if for justice or revenge dont care.. Though I feel that the small attacks that may happen are nothing to the loss should he be rescued and or escape one day soon and regain what he once had...

And The Iraqi people in my opinion would once again fall into his leadership willingly as he would most likely proclaim himself their UNDEFEATED leader and announce his immortality in which My opinion is they would believe him hence the war would get worse :( But this is just what runs through my head..

So in my opinion regardless of the attacks that may happen due to his death they will not be as bad as the countless attacks trying to bring him back into power should he have been given the chance to live...

I am still kinda down that the U.S.A has lost a formittable foe... And am not looking forward to the next one :( There MUST be balance so soon there will be another... Bush is not God and cannot win the war on terrorism, and even if ti did happen we would not be satisfied.. We are species of Drama and conflict and need such to continue to survive ... Balance is not complete dominance of one side .. Hence the battle between Decievingly good and evil ensues til we are long past our time here on earth :)

But anyway
