If you are attaching it to the fish tank, draw a circle on the tank where you want it, in the size you want it to be.

Next, draw a line from the center of the circle, I found it easiest to do so following the planes (straight out, then to the side, up or down. Diagnals I found too be too much trouble to bother with.

Next, click the follow me tool and click within your circle. Hold down your click and pull along your line that you had drawn. Dont let go of it, even at corners. I found it likes to mess up if you try to do it in more than one part.

Just follow your line to where you want it to go. There are more complicated things you can do with it, but I havent even figured out past this. Hope it helps a bit.

I just downloaded sketch and I am very excited!

Here's one that I did yesterday while trying to figure out the ins and outs of google sketchup: It's something that I've always dreamed of, a cylindrical tank with a sump system built right into it. I show the path of water in picture 6. Also, the darker glass on top represents lids that can be removed for maintenance and etc. Let me know what you guys think and how I can improve. Also, FYI the tank is completely transparent for explanatory purposes. Ideally, the inner tube would be either a solid color or 3D, and the lids would be solid color or clear, and there would be media in the sump chambers, etc.

You ever get to Vegas?

Check put the tank at the Forum Shops in Cesear's Palace. It is a cylindrical saltwater tank. If I get down there any time soon I will snap some pics and post them. It is an OMFG tank.

fishguy- thank you so much for the "follow me" tool hint for the pipes. i couldn't for the life of me figure out how to do right angles on cylinders and then finally tried that out and it's awesome! thanks again!

Sweetness,

Will be using this.

I am voting for this to be a Sketch-up Sticky seeing that so many people use it here.

i used it to design my stand for my 210 and made a few designs for plywood tanks that i would like to build but not sure i still have the files since i restored my laptop will take a look if i have them on my external hd. i like the idea about the data base.
