Definitely appears to be. How big is it? I can't really be 100% sure until it's about a foot

I gotta admit I heard the same from him via a mate, we were both keen to buy som blue mahseer each but never pulled the trigger for one reason or another, missed some on eBay last year for a right bargain by pennies whilst bidding. Then next thing you hear is lancs' not gonna bother with any more :(

it seems that way here mate, someone get something swamps the market for a while with them and then because there is a few left that can't be sold they don't bring stuff in for a while. one of the reasons i don't keep a lot of dovii fry, too easy to kill the market quick in the uk. not many monster keepers generating a good circulation of fish lol.

couple of options for tank mates

carp (common, mirror, or koi) should get a good size as not be food and add some interaction to the tank/pool
starlett hybrid (not sure long term but still hit 0.8-1m) as above
Mahseer (if i can find some)
trout (not going to work long term)

or go all teeth
northern Pike (some times come up for sale)
gar

or play it by ear try some more temperate fish and see what works lol

cheers mate, only the ones that are on here, i'll get some tomorrow but not much has changed. I haven't picked up the new tank yet that will hopefully be this weekend but be a while before i get him moved, as it needs a bit of work first.

If you wanna go more authentic add Tor tor's or Tor putitora Both are found in the same range as the HLG. There's other mahseers as well in that area but much harder to find. I have mine with a blue mahseer, 2 Thai golden mahseers and a couple large barbs that my buddy just gave me. I got a bunch of baby Tor tor's and T. putitora that I'm growing out and I hope to have the goonch with just those guys later in the future to make it more of a native habitat
