Hes a silver arowana, about 2-3 inches in length, eggsack still hangin on there

Should i be feeding him anything? or will his eggsack be sufficient?

Do I need to do water changes like the bigger aros i read about?

Also he doesnt have any tank mates at this time, but i was wondering if i should get an algae eater? if so what kind of algae eater should i get?

Right now he is in a 5.5 gallon tank with a breeding foam filter, submersible heater, water lettuce, and some gravel...there isnt a light for this tank...ill move him to my 10gal when he absorbs the rest of his eggsack...then move him up...to hopefully a 250 gallon...

I just got him yesterday and hes still going strong...just need some help on what to do with him...I'll post pics soon...

Oh and one more thing...this is my first aro!!!

update!!! and pics!!!

upon looking at the tank and taking pics i have discovered that there is a baby guppy in there with him...im not sure if i should take it out or keep it in...i REALLY don't want to disturb/scare my silver...

i used my sony digital camera, for the small amount of light i used a maglight flashlight...sorry for the crappy pics...its all i can do without scaring the little guy...lol...enjoy and please input!!!

BUMP

i would take the guppy out since they're really delicate and are known to be scared of even smaller fish. don't get a plec, either.

alright now theres two choices...keep the guppy in there...or take it out...

oh and i added a light to the tank...but only in one corner...the whole other half is dark...hes slowly going towards the lit area...

so anyone else disagree on whether to get a pleco or algae eater?

i forgot to mention that the store that i bought him from had him in a 2.5 gallon with a small pleco...i tried to mimic the exact set-up they had for him there...the only thing i didnt add was a piece of driftwood...but i think i could do without it...this little guy is constantly at the top of the water...thats a good thing right?

i was just reading around here on MFK...and i read something about aros will accept fd bloodworms at any size? is that true? i have some fd blood worms but i also dont want to pollute the little guy's tank until he is bigger so that i would be able to change the water safely...

bump for input! thanks!

looking at the tank...the guppy is hiding behind and under the filter...this shouldnt be a problem right?

any input on feeding? come on people!!! help me out!
