I had a tank with the same crack. I just siliconed both sides and never has a problem since then.

X2... I have a 180g with a similiar crack. I siliconed the inside and out and it's been up and running for several months with no issues:grinno:.

Good luck,
Chris

Called and got an estimate and they are saying its gonna cost about $140.

So what were you saying Kevin, just seal it up with silicone?

Just smear a thin layer into the crack on both sides, wait for it to dry, and then run beads that follow the actual crack line itself on both sides. That should seal it tight. Will not look awesome on a BB tank, but if you are using substrate it will not even matter. Just let it cure for about a week.

I want black sand. What do you mean run beads?

Ok so what if instead I do what you guys said and seal it but also put a piece on the inside over it and seal it as well.

I will be uneven inside the tank, but again if you are using a substrate it will not matter, go for it.

Will it be enough to hold the crack? How thick a cut should I get? I don't care if its uneven cause like I said I want sand in the tank.
