I do agree. True Goliath don't have strips. The teeth are more pronounce,
the face is more shiny, and the tail is more broader. Bring it back for that price.
 
Link is a baby Goliath. I hear Pedro is very good at correcting mistakes/problems.
I would contact him and try to work something out

try to get another pic for us, maybe after a water change w/nice new clear water.
I'm more than positive it's VATF though
 
Get a better pic up before you contact him. Lets make it a 100% ID before... know what I mean.

Based on what you see in your tank, which is it?

VATFs have rows of striped lines front to back like an american flag. Also have some sparkly color to the body (sometimes a greenish/yellow/glittery shine)

GATFs dont except for 1 line front to back (also body is all white... not even a black shade)

I wouldnt get upset if you are (just guessing) as it is a common mistake;)
 
I agree vatf to many stripes n doesn't have the flag tail. It don't look like my Gatf! also looks lil smaller than 7" n skinny too. Better get some meat on his bones! Still awesome fish though!
 
To me that is a vittatus also.

thats alot of money for a mislabled fish. I hope they will give your a deal on the next fish.

Still a ba fish non the less.
