well i got the thermometer and humidity gauges fixed today. in my basking im running like 95-96* and like 55% humidity.. sound right?

You're right on the higher end of the range with that basking temp, just make sure the snake has a cooler area (mid 80s) to retreat to as well.
Jessica, I think what Loco meant was that, to a snake, humans smell somewhat foreign. Of course, to any fellow human, it could vary.
