Got a ray IN the bay!

we should start a sticky on everything you need to know/prepare to keep a ray. That way, research is alot easier.

also I am trying to feed her earthworms but she seems to not know its food...:(
 
how is your heater placed??? if veritcal and up off the bottom ray cant burn itself... so how is your positioned

If you have a really energetic ray, it might climb up to the top and rest on it, depending on how it is positioned. I've got a really bouncy leopoldi x pearl that loves to climb over everything. Generally if you put the heater up high, it is alright. I would just be aware of it, if you really don't want to/can't get a heater guard or throw the heaters in the sump. You can cut 3/4" pvc pipe and drill holes in it, if it is a financial issue.

Also, do try blackworms- I've never seen a healthy ray turn them down.

Just out of curiosity, how big is the little gal?

i said it has to be vertical.... i have some crazy active rays.... never had one burn from a stealth... same goes with jager heaters done the same way...
