Got electrocuted at the LFS i work at.. :(

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Man, I used to get zapped all the time. It was usually blown heaters (back in the glass visitherm days), but sometimes a light switch would fall in a tank and get you. The store I was at had 350+ FW tanks, and wasn't exactly wired up to standards, so it's amazing nobody got seriously zapped. It was a little local store, so we just dealt with it and tried to be careful, but a chain store coverup... I'd start to play hardball. But hey, we'd get drunk and play with tazers sometimes, too (I know it's stupid, so that's what happens when freaks get together with copious amounts of mind twisters)

For the record Volts are measuring potential differences, while amps measure how much electricity moves past a point per second. They are related, but separate. High amperage just says more electricity is getting pumped into you per second. At a higher voltage, naturally, more electricity has the possibility of getting pumped into you.

Ten years ago I dropped my light bar into my community tank. My Giant Danios were swimming back and forth as usual, but UPSIDE DOWN.

Doesn't matter if the boss is "nice" or you like him
Totally ticks me off when businesses intimidate kids into not reporting crap like this.
Did you file a workman's comp report? did you go to the Er to get checked out? Does your boss have workman's comp?
Bottom line, you can probly make the same a burger king so don't let the boss intimidate you into not reporting it.
No actually the bottom line is, if you wind up with problems from this in the future will your boss support you for the rest of your life? (OK at minimum wage maybe he will)
OSHA, ER visit to get checked workman's comp report.
This is not "being a wuss" or milking the system this is protecting yourself
Always get documentation for a work related injury.
Always think of it as worst case, ie not being able to work again or humongous medical bills
people are not necessarily out to get you but they will certainly put their interests above yours in this case having to shell out money to bring the place up to standard
LOL or make him post a BIG sign
WORK AT YOUR OWN RISK

They destroyed evidence? So they know they were wrong. get letter in writing fromn a couple witnesses as well.
It's a big chain? **** them. They know better

thanks guys. I get "zapped" at that place EVERYDAY, but this was much bigger. accidents do happen, but im more worried about the owners attitude towards this accident. they really did not care at all.

Its a small business. (only one store)

I told my parents Today but i told them not to make a big deal out of it before i told them what happened. my mom ( who was crying) did say that we should contact OSHA so they can chek it out, but I'm still not sure.
