Well it sucks that there's been no update. Maybe it got really ugly.
His experience really sucks, and unfortunately I'm sure a lot of people buying custom luxury products are getting similar experiences with the economic problems. Unfortunately companies really can't afford bad press right now, but they also can't afford to spend any extra money fixing mistakes properly, so they take stupid risks like sending out a half-assed finished product, knowing lots of people out there would just bend over and take it.
As much rationale can be assigned to the delays and the original *****-ness of your tank, there is no excuse for the mind games, lying about the tank being worked on. Better they told you the acrylic manufacturere went down than lie. I mean, 10ft acrylic sheets are a luxury product for the most part too - it's not unquestionable that the supplier went bankrupt, but lying about it is a slimy, ****ty move.
I've built a few custom acrylic tanks for some people, and I'm not as expensive as tenecor, but I know that if someone is paying $3k for a tank, it better be perfect, and I stress about every bubble in every seam. So much so I decided not to do it anymore! Too much blood pressure for not enough profit. I can't believe a reputable, experienced place with all the tools and history that Tenecor has would send you something so crappy and try to pass it off as OK.
