I agree 100%. I can't tell people how much I've paid for some of my goldfish, because they aren't into fishkeeping and wouldn't understand. If you have the money and love the fish, go for it.

Wow. Anyone know the guy with the only real pair in captivity?

These things should seriously be BRED. Anyone should put aside their comm tank infatuations until we have at least 3 farms breeding these guys.

Would be a bonus in beating the Australian Lungfish in terms of availability if they were bred to that degree.

There is another pair. I believe there will be a secret to breed them, Auranti's that are fairly simalar are a tough one to crack.

Colin: I will look into the insurance. I do lock my garage. Although If someone really wants it they will know how to crack it. I will be careful about publisising my location. I would not want it nicked.

I had heard the Pier Barca's had gone for a bit more than that, Although I am sure the purchaser would have struck some sort of deal. £600 is a fantastic price.

I'm picking up some pricey fish when I go to Toronto this Christmas... I was thinking about them today and about the snakehead as well when I was getting a coffee near an art gallery. I thought about how many people will pay unbelievable amounts of money for art, and it is considered an investment and good taste, etc.

Well, fish are living art, and they are way more fun to watch than any painting

How many singles have you now. I remember first seeing your signature saying Barca on this site and questioning you about them, As you know I have been after one for some time now and have now eventually got one. It would be great to have a pair though.
