well i think iam gonna do the 55g for now and put the 120g i have been eyeballing at my LFS on layaway...been wanting to get this tank for a while as i have the perfect spot for it...and now i have an excuse to "justify" getting a new tank..

If you've never had an Oscar, they are great fish. After 2 years they can be pretty impressive size wise.
You should be able to get away with having a common pleco in the tank with an Oscar. Just make sure theres enough tank space and the pleco is big enough.
Yep, a 6ft, 125g tank is your best bet because it gives you some options. Don't get a 4ft 120g. It's the same footprint of a 75g, just taller, which doesn't offer more room for an oscar. In the 6ft tank, you can do an oscar and a school of silver dollars, etc..

Good work on saving that Oscar I give you props! I agree a 6 foot 235 gallon is the best option when you get that all setup I would say the Oscar, 7 silver dollars, and a smaller cichlid or bottom feeder I would highly recommend a featherfin catfish I love mine!
fortunate the people who have the oscar realized their mistake, they posted it in a local online animal re-homing site....15 minutes till they get off work then its a waiting game for them to call to say i can come get the
