My tank turns every 5 minutes. How often does yours turn? Every 5 seconds? Or do you just keep the fish in the filter? LOL

Each of my 55gs have 350gph
Marineland/Penguin 350/360s w/biowheel & quad cartriges
I had a second smaller unit with just bio, but the balance got wacked.:screwy:

My 46 has 340 (2x Pen 170s)

The 10s have 70

My general theory: turn the tank at least 6-7 times per hour
Never more than 10 mins per turn.

& I don't count undergravel in the turns.

i think that 10 turns per hour is good? i will go by that in future tanks but i will tweak the rule depending on how many fish i got :)

If the filter is actually sucking the scales off your fish you might want to downgrade a notch.
