Grade my flowerhorn

I agree with Daniel on the prazipro as a treatment for new fish. My guy always looked nice and plump. One day he stopped eating, treated him and it took 2 weeks for his gut to clear out. Not fun and stressful for both of us. I would also do a two week treatment. This same flowerhorn was only treated one week when when I got him, and obviously he wasn't cleared out. I thought he was though. Good luck and nice catch.

The flowerline becomes darker from tank mates as they try to show their dominance, being in a new environment, or from the back ground. From my experience a more natural back ground will show allow the flowerline to pop but it really depends on your fh. Black looks like it works till 5-6 inches and then blue seems to work for my fh's that are +5-6 inches but the substrate color is just as important so experimenting is best. Heres one of my srds showing the flowerline changing color due to size.

Here he is at around two inches

And about 5-6 inches
