Nice grammodes. I wish mine would grow like that.

What are you feeding him and does he eat like a pig or is he a "hit-and-miss" eater. Mine is very "hit-and-miss" and very picky.

How big is yours and how long have you had him? I feed mine NLS floating pellets, Hikari Foodsticks and Hikari Massivore. He never eats more than about 2 pellets per feeding. I feed him Massivore at least once every day because he eats so little and I think it's the best for growth and adding bulk.

Does your Grammodes take a long time to chew up his food? My Festae is about the same size and will swallow a Massivore pellet and then can eat another one in like 3-4 seconds. The Grammodes takes like 30 seconds before he's ready to eat another one. It's like he's grinding it up in his throat really well instead of just swallowing whole.

That's exactly the way all of mine have behaved..... I have had good success targeting a piece of krill to each grammy so they get enough to eat.

Awesome grammy, homie. that thing is sweet!

Thank WildCAught. I've been hard at work raising him into what he is today. :D Trust me he's more high maintenance than my other fish.

With sinking Massivore pellets, I have to stand there and wait for him to finish one and then drop another one in near him. If it hits the bottom, he's out on eating that one. It has to be in mid-fall. :screwy: Crazy fish. With floating pellets he goes up and gets one when he's ready.

I've had mine since last April and he has grown about an inch. He is 4.5 inches. I feed him mainly Hikari Sinking Carnivore (essentially a smaller version of the Massivore), mealworms, frozen clams, and frozen mysis shrimp. He eats the way you described how your fish eats. He is alone in a 55 (and he is not shy at all) and I do a weekly 60% water-change.

Same here too. Grammodes eat slowly and take big breaks between bites.

Thanks for sharing the info guys. I guess slow eating is normal for Grammodes.
Darthodo, one inch in 8-9 months seems like exceptionally slow growth even for a Grammy wouldn't you say?

Looking good mate, great growth on the big guy:)

Thanks, I guess it is good growth rate. He grew more than I gave him credit for.

Yes indeed. I tend to underestimate, but it seems he is really low gear on growth.
