Scott I had forgot you got pictures of them way to go. I have sad news the female Pinima died earlier this year. She apperently tried to eat the Occellaris and died as a result of the shock from saving the Occell two weeks later she surcame to a disease probally from being weak from the whole ordeal. Rick at the zoo has had the hardiest time with Cichla period and this group has proven to be just as challanging. I am sure the male will be on display by November in the big tank. From the pictures of the Tem you can see they have been fattening them all up since I gave them to them. I can't wait to see him.
Another surprise I was trying to keep under wraps is I will be recieving one of the 24'' Dovii's male offspring tomorrow. The Dovii up there are crazy spawning. The male in the big tank has 3 females and has four spawns in the same tank. (And that was when I donated) Not to mention that they had Dovii in just about every holding tank and not on purpose, the Big Male stays busy. At this point it's like Roaches with Dovii there every where. The large male is Super Gold and HEAVY Blue. And yes I am sure he is the reason they just did not throw the Pinima into the Display tank. Had they started gobbiling his offspring I am sure he would have retaleated.
This has been in the works for a few months so I finally confirmed the pick up today. I will snap pics as soon as I get him aclimated and in the 150g. Those of you that know me know that I started out wanting all Parachromis and found out about Cichla after I found out about Dovii. So you can all relate to this.
Dovii are like my Unicorn. Been keeping Jags all my life and all I really want at the end of the day is the perfect Dovii pair.
