Greatest Aussie fish??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There are a couple of freshwater longtom species...We've got a few landlocked ones about but I'm yet to bother catching one. Not hard to keep, and quite easy to feed. So long as you feed them feeder fish... You do need a lot of room though, as their beaks can get a bit bruised if they don't have enough room to turn properly.

My favourite would probably be an Australian lungfish, they're one of a kind afterall.

What do you reckon is Australia's greatest fish?

For me it's a tie between Barramundi and Murray Cod, they are both great fish :D

There quite a few more I like but it's to late at the moment to think :P:P

Murray cod all the way!

Barra are good alligator gar food :D

Would you happen to know the scientific names of the freshwater versions? My current tank is only 8 feet long and 2 feet wide (or appx 61 cm), so I doubt I could keep one of them, but I'd like to store that away for future reference, and would like to at least find out whether or not they're illegal in California :D
